Video Intervention Therapy (VIT)



Judy Adel is the Clinical Director for Child First located in Meriden Connecticut. Judy has a special interest in early childhood and infant mental health. Judy is also working towards becoming a rostered clinician in Child -Parent Psychotherapy.

Rick Amaral, LCSW, ACSW, is the Director of InterCommunity, Inc.’s Outpatient Psychiatric Children’s Clinic, as well as the Director for the Child First program in East Hartford, Connecticut, USA.   As a Child First Director, Rick supervises licensed clinicians in VIT interventions.  Rick has been supervising staff and teaching at local Colleges and Universities for the past 20 years.  Rick has been to several Of Dr. Downing Intensive trainings and is one of a handful of VIT trainers for the Child First network.


Karen Doyle Buckwalter, MSW, LCSW, Director of  Program Strategy at Chaddock, a multi-service agency providing a range of residential, educational, and community-based services for youth, birth through age 21, and their families.  While at Chaddock, she has been instrumental in the development of an innovative residential program for adolescents, ages 8 – 16, with Attachment Disorders and Developmental Trauma.
One of the only programs of its kind serving older adolescents, Chaddock’s Developmental Trauma and Attachment Program (DTAP) has served youth from 30 different states in the U.S. originating from 11 different countries.  Karen is a Certified Theraplay Therapist, Trainer and Supervisor.

Sergio_Facchini_web Sergio Facchini, pediatrician and psychotherapist, works and lives in Pordenone. He teaches courses on VIT for child psychiatrists, pediatricians, and other health professionals working in Italian National Health Service primary care centers.
Sergio is willing to do on-line supervisions in italian and english.

Carole Gammer, Ph.D. clinical psychologist, is an internationally known trainer in family therapy, teaching in France, Germany, and Switzerland.

She is the author of The Child’s Voice in Family Therapy: A Systemic Perspective (Norton 2009), and co-author of Adolescence, Crise Familiale (Ed. Erès, 2nd edition, 1999).
